Our Approach to Orthodontic Treatment
At Eto Dental Clinic, we value simplicity in our devices, techniques, and philosophy.
By “simplicity,” we mean rational orthodontic treatment with a focus on function.
Our brackets are small in size and simple in design.
These small brackets cause minimal discomfort and are less burdensome during brushing and eating, allowing patients to go about their daily lives comfortably.
Made of ceramic, they have a natural translucency that blends in with the color of your teeth, making them far less noticeable.
We also care about aesthetics
Drawing on years of experience in cosmetic dentistry, we strive to deliver treatment that values not only function but also natural beauty.
Free Consultation
A free consultation is a very important first step for anyone considering orthodontic treatment.
Why is a free consultation important?
- It is the first step toward resolving your concern
- → You can find out the current state of your teeth and learn about appropriate treatment options.
- You can get a full picture of what treatment involves
- → You will learn about treatment methods, duration, cost, and payment options, and can begin to form a concrete image of your future goals and plans.
A free consultation also gives you a sense of the clinic’s atmosphere and the dentist’s approach, making it a good opportunity to decide whether this is the right clinic for you.
Our Treatment Philosophy
Tooth-Preserving Orthodontics
At Eto Dental Clinic, we are committed to orthodontic treatment that avoids tooth extraction wherever possible (non-extraction orthodontics).
In modern dentistry, the prevailing philosophy is to preserve as many natural teeth as possible, and it has become increasingly common in orthodontics to avoid extraction when feasible.
However, in cases where the patient wishes to move the front teeth further back, extraction orthodontics may be recommended.
Treatment Process (From Examination to Start of Treatment)
① Free Consultation
We will listen to your concerns and wishes (appearance, cost, duration, concerns about extraction, etc.) and help clarify the direction of treatment.
② Examination
For patients who decide to proceed with treatment after the free consultation, we will conduct a full examination.
The examination includes X-rays, dental impressions, intraoral photographs, and facial photographs.
Dental impressions are taken digitally. An intraoral scanner is used to capture a three-dimensional image of the inside of your mouth.
The examination typically takes under one hour.
③ Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Explanation
Once the examination and diagnosis are complete, we will explain your treatment plan in detail.
We will provide a thorough explanation of the treatment method, cost, duration, and whether extraction is required, and once you are satisfied with the plan, you will sign an informed consent form.
At this stage, we will provide you with a written summary of the treatment fees.
Payment methods include cash, credit card, and dental loan — please choose whichever suits you best.
The above outlines the basic process from diagnosis to the start of treatment.
④ Start of Orthodontic Treatment
We will attach the orthodontic device, explain how to use it, and begin treatment.
※ If treatment for cavities or periodontal disease is required, this will be prioritized before orthodontic treatment begins.
Available Orthodontic Treatments
Partial Orthodontics
Many patients come to us wanting to correct only their front teeth, or to be treated with front-teeth-only appliances.
Indeed, many of our patients have said, “It’s really just my front teeth I’m worried about!”
For patients with such requests, we offer partial orthodontic appliances that are discreet, affordable, and require a shorter treatment period.
While we cannot meet every request, we do our best to provide solutions within the scope of what is possible.
Crowding (Overlapping / Crooked Teeth)
Crowding refers to front teeth that overlap and grow in a crooked arrangement.
The main cause of crowding is believed to be insufficient space in the jaw for the teeth to grow in properly, resulting in overlapping.
Overlapping front teeth are particularly noticeable, making it important to address them with appropriate treatment.
The most suitable treatment for correcting dental crowding is labial (front-side) wire orthodontics.
Wire braces allow for precise, detailed tooth movement.
Clear Aligner Orthodontics
Eto Dental Clinic has recently renewed its clear aligner treatment system. Through a restructured approach that maintains quality while improving efficiency, we are now able to offer treatment starting from ¥500,000 (tax exclusive).
※ Clear aligner treatment may not be suitable in some cases. Details will be explained following examination.
